Discussion & Submission Policy

Users are invited to submit suggestions for videos, photos, articles, and other content in certain areas of our platform. Suggestions on what's important to users, politicians, and organizations helps shape what kind of dialog our democracy has. iMatr encourages Canadians to take the opportunity to contribute to these interactive forums and share original content, or referral to relevant and important third-party content.

In order to create a community that is informative, enjoyable and interesting for all users, all submissions must comply with these Discussion & Submission Policies.


By submitting suggested content, users are consenting to these rules and regulations:


1. Users agree not to submit inappropriate content.


Inappropriate content includes any content that not only violates our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Platform Activity Standards, but also content that:


  • infringes upon or violates any copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights of any person, organization or government

  • is libelous or defamatory

  • is obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, vulgar, or abusive

  • violates a person's right to privacy

  • violates any local, provincial, federal or international law

  • contains or advocates, promotes illegal or violent acts

  • degrades, isolates, or discriminates others on the basis of gender, race, class, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or other classification

  • is predatory, hateful, or intended to intimidate or harass, or contain derogatory name calling

  • is a duplicate of something already posted or shared on the platform

  • contains advertising

  • contains a solicitation of any kind

  • misrepresents a user's identity, affiliation or intention of any kind

  • impersonates others

  • is in poor taste or is otherwise objectionable

  • does not affirm the reality of verifiable, peer reviewed science.


2. Users agree that they are fully responsible for the content they submit.

Any content that has been submitted or posted that violates any of these policies will be promptly removed. In the event of any intellectual property infringement, the user will indemnify iMatr and its affiliates and subsidiaries, and its and their directors, officers, managers, employees, shareholders, agents, licensors, from and against losses, expenses, damages, and costs, including reasonable attorney's fees, resulting from any claim brought by any third party relating to the content provided by the user.


3. Users agree and understand that iMatr is not responsible for the content they submit.

Users further understand that iMatr has the right, but not the obligation, to monitor submissions and iMatr may remove content that it deems inappropriate for any reason whatsoever without user consent. iMatr futher reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove a user's privilege to post content on our platform. IMatr may reject or remove content at any time, with or without notice to users.


4. Users certify that they are at least 16 years of age.

Users under the age of 16 may not submit content. If a user is 16 year old and under the age of 18, the user may submit content only with the permission of, and under the supervision of, a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians agreeing to these policies for the benefit of individuals between the ages of 16 and 18, agree that they are fully responsible for the user's submission and any legal liability that the user may incur.


5. Users certify that they have the permission of others, who have contributed to or are featured in any content they have submitted.

Should content contain any individuals under the age of 18 in any photos, videos, or other submitted content, the user must obtain the permission of each such individual's parent or legal guardian prior to submitting the content.


6. Users acknowledge and agree any use and/or reliance on any information obtained through iMatr that features user supplied content is at the user's own risk.

Under no circumstances or manner is iMatr endorsing any user supplied content, and therefore, it can not and will not vouch for is accuracy or reliability.


7. For any content submitted by users, users give iMatr permission to use such content.

Except as otherwise provided herein, users hereby grant iMatr a royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, exclusive, and fully sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, incorporate into other works, distribute, perform, display, and otherwise exploit such content, in whole or in part in any form, media, technology now known or later developed.


8. In addition to these Discussion & Submission Policies, users agree to abide by iMatr's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
